We were booked to be their on the day co-ordinators, but we always look at those important finer details of our weddings too! Soon enough we were loving helping them with their last minute final plans, doing some re-arranging, sourcing a new vendor that was needed, and organising the wet weather back up styling options.

 | We have some thoughts of our own on this gorgeous wedding! Kim & Mitch were gifted with the most amazing, clear, sunny day. The property's roses were in full bloom, radiating so much colour, which set an amazing backdrop and aisleway for the ceremony. When it comes to choosing your wedding venue, we totally recommend what Kim & Mitch did - they made the day relaxing for everyone by choosing a venue where the entire wedding, including all post wedding photographs and bridal party accommodation could be all on the one property. We absolutely love when the florist is the stylist, and Merribee House is the perfect DIY venue to do just that. Why hire a separate stylist when you can floral up the space and create something completely unique and never done before? Jane and her Floreat Floral team completely transformed the barn into something else. |
They used a crisp white and forest green colour palate. The white peonies and phalaenopsis orchids were the stand out feature on each table, and installed over head was a floral disco ball (yes you read that correctly!) filled with floaty pampas grass as the barn's focal point.
Our celebrant Allegra tailored such a fun ceremony for them which was full of laughs. Ben's chilled out tunes brought all the love feels that make a ceremony perfect.
We were pretty chuffed to have been asked to help look after their furbaby, French bulldog Ziggy. We brought Ziggy from his accommodation to Mitch before the ceremony began, then when Kim joined Mitch at the end of the aisle, we swooped in with Ziggy's favourite chicken jerky and brought him back to his accommodation.

Post ceremony photos were also all throughout the gardens of the Merribee property.
As the sun started to set, Kim & Mitch snuck out during a quiet time at their reception for some twilight photos in the open fields. We loved having a play in the soft natural light with Kim's breathtaking Chosen by One Day Bridal 'Nala' gown.
We were impressed how easily she hopped over the property fence in her gown, but the ease in doing so was probably with thanks to her comfy Kate Spade 'Keds' sparkle sneakers.

The format of the speeches was done slightly different to the typical wedding. They were spread out at different times throughout the reception, and in different locations of the barn which kept things interesting.
After the meal service, and as night set in, the guests flowed out to the forecourt under the moonlight for the last speech by Mitch.

    | They aren't the type to be in the spot light. With 130 guests attending, they didn't organise a wedding cake for a cake cutting and didn't want a first dance, but everything flowed so perfectly no one even noticed. The White Tree were not only thier videographers, but were also their full live band who played the most fun tunes from the couple's entrance to the reception, right through to the sparkler send off. As the dancing started, guests were treated to freshly shaken espresso martinis in mason jars and amazing mini dessert canapés all served up in style by caterers Hampden Deli.  |
It was a truly magical first day of Summer and an amazing wedding to kick off the season.
